イベント内容

Keeping the momentum in empowering the 4.5 billion people at the BoP - How will mobile technologies help?

Two months ago, we started a series of presentations and events to explore how technologies are impacting populations at the Base of the Pyramid, meaning the 4.5bn people living with less than $8/day. Our first edition was an introduction to the topic which gathered 40 people at The Hub. We now have more than 4000 views on Slideshare, a sign that this is a hot and important topic, and that people care about it.

We'd like to invite you for a second session at The Hub, where we will be focusing more on mobile technologies, and how they empower millions of people in emerging countries, changing the ways they can: get an education, access to banking features, improve agriculture, help better access water, and more.

We will also share with you more amazing hard science technologies for the BoP.

Join us for an hour where we will present key figures and, most importantly, case studies from Africa, Latin America and Asia. These are entrepreneurs, citizens, companies, research institutions and schools creating new technologies and mobile behaviours from which we can learn a lot. (there is much to learn)

Date: Tuesday, 29 July 2014
Time: 7.30 - 9pm
Venue: The Hub Singapore

About The Speaker
Anne-Laure Herrezuelo is an agronomist engineer by training, with a double master in Agricultural Science (food and environment), and in Sociology and Rural Economy.

Her career started in the NGO emergency and development field. She has been working in Africa on food security projects and in South America to help farming communities get structured and access better to market opportunities. She also provided organizational expertise to organizations working with vulnerable populations such as malnourished children, and underprivileged families.

Anne-Laure then moved back to France to work as a consultant in change and organization. She has supported the restructuring of the National Immigration social services (equivalent of the French NPDT), the French national council for refugees and asylum seekers and many other social services.

Due to her expertise, she has also been involved in change management for MNCs in the air and space industries, and water industry, among others.

Now in Singapore, Anne-Laure is the Senior Manager, business and programme development for BoP HUB, which foster cross-sectorial collaboration among the BoP (Base of the Pyramid) interested parties.
