Hello there iJAWS members!

It's time for the 4th installment of iJAWS. The awesome guys at Gengo (special thank you to Derek and Andrea from Gengo) has graciously decided to host the event in their stylishly funky Shibuya office building.

The agenda is still being finalized, and this time around we are looking for your input!

  • 30 - 45 Minutes : 10 min architecture share from various volunteers.(please send us suggestions through doorkeeper!

    • [preliminary] Building a wordpress site using Elastic Beanstalk, EC2 Instance, RDS, Elasticache S3, CloudFront, IAM, and creating a stack with CloudFormation, as well as simulating how much it costs with AWS calculator. Hashimoto-san
    • [prel.] Career Planning for Engineers in a Cloud World Ken Charles, head of Technical Recruiting at Apex KK, will speak about the trends he has been seeing when it comes to hiring engineers. What tech stacks are most valuable? Where will the future engineering jobs be? If you're not developing for cloud applications professionally, should you be worried? Ken answers these questions and more.
    • [prel.] The Twelve-Factor App and Gengo How Gengo is moving towards a "Twelve-Factor App" (http://12factor.net/) Andrea Belvedere, Gengo
  • 30 min - 1 hr: Open discussion / conversation (this is something a lot of you have been asking to do even more, and we hear you load and clear).

There will be a nijikai (after party) for anyone who wants to have additional beers and talk about everything from doge coins and favorite beer makers to T2.micro instances.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Best regards,
Rasmus and the iJAWS core team
